Camera
many photographers note on each image the lens, aperture, shutter speed, etc. i haven’t bothered since my camera details are pretty pedestrian and nowhere near what i wish i could tell you i’m shooting with.
all images are taken with either a Canon PowerShot (point-and-shoot) or with my iPhone 3G camera.
i don’t manipulate or correct any of the images. i believe using photo-editing software is a separate skill and art, and it’s something i don’t possess. literally and figuratively.
similarly, i don’t crop any of the images. composition occurs at the taking of the image for me. not that i don’t frequently wish i’d shot or cropped it differently in the moment, but i either post it as-is or choose another image i can better live with.
i do miss film cameras and time in the darkroom (it has been so long, i’m pretty sure i don’t remember anything), and if i had the time and funding i’d be using my Mamiya for this blog. wielding the digital point-and-shoot allows for a lot of trial/error/growth though, as all the images are (basically) free. can’t beat it.
